Job description

What You'll Do
You will be responsible for acquiring new business by engaging prospects and identifying opportunities that support the company's growth objectives. Additionally, you will manage assigned key accounts to ensure revenue growth, account profitability, account maintenance, and customer satisfaction. This role requires travel up to 75% of the time.

Essential Functions
 

  • Drive new business attainment by identifying and engaging prospective clients in alignment with company growth strategies.
  • Manage assigned key accounts to ensure revenue growth, account profitability, and ongoing account maintenance.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships to support customer-specific strategic objectives and satisfaction.
  • Expand services for existing customers including transportation, multi-vendor consolidation, value-added services, and international opportunities.
  • Lead and facilitate value stream analysis and coordinate integration of new and existing clients with business development and commercial teams.
  • Analyze and review monthly revenue and KPI reports to track account performance against company budget goals and objectives.
  • Manage special projects and solution development processes for new business opportunities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

What Experience and Education You Need
 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing, or equivalent training in business or sales management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience required in management positions with increasing responsibilities in supply chain, warehousing, distribution, transportation, or food industry sectors such as beef, pork, poultry, dairy, bakery, agricultural, or seafood.
  • Track record of closing new business sales deals valued at $1 million or more.
  • Experience managing key accounts generating annual revenue in excess of $1 million.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, Access DB, and other current technology platforms for account management and analytics.

  • Master's degree in business, sales, or marketing preferred.
  • Experience managing 12 or more accounts simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
  • Successful resolution of multi-party business conflicts.
  • Familiarity with supply chain systems such as WMS, TMS, OMS, and ERP.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in high pressure environments.
  • Professional presentation and appearance.

Physical Requirements
 

  • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching and/or bending.
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.
  • Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others verbally and/or in writing.
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
  • May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
  • May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
