Job description

Admissions Assistant - Part-Time
Kern River Transitional Care
Pay Range: $18.00-$18.50 per hour, based on experience
Kern River Transitional Care is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Part-Time Admissions Assistant to join our team. The Admissions Assistant will support the admissions process, help welcome new residents and families, and ensure admission paperwork and records are completed accurately and promptly.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with coordinating new resident admissions and room readiness
  • Welcome new residents and families and provide a positive admission experience
  • Gather, review, and organize required admission paperwork
  • Enter resident information accurately into facility systems
  • Verify that admission documents are complete and properly filed
  • Communicate with hospitals, referral sources, residents, and families
  • Assist with answering phones, responding to inquiries, and scheduling tours
  • Provide tours of the facility to prospective residents and families
  • Maintain accurate referral, inquiry, and admission records
  • Track pending admissions and follow up on outstanding information
  • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, business office, and other departments
  • Maintain the confidentiality of resident and facility information
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous admissions, healthcare, or administrative experience preferred
  • Skilled nursing or long-term care experience is a plus
