What you will do
The Supplier Excellence Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the company's suppliers meet the highest technical standards of quality and performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in the personal care industry and a proven track record of driving supplier excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, ESG) to drive supplier executional excellence
  • Partner with Procurement, Quality, and ESG to establish and enhance packaging supplier technical assessment
  • Develop and implement supplier performance metrics and scorecards based on the needs of Packaging, Procurement, Quality and ESG partners
  • Conduct and manage supplier audits and technical assessments to identify core technical capabilities and expertise in part design, material selection, mold design, mold qualification, decoration techniques and best practice in part molding quality as well as areas for improvement
  • Coordinate and manage external resources to conduct technical assessments
  • Ability to provide supplier selection recommendations for the procurement and supplier quality teams based on supplier's technical expertise in specific material and molding category of a certain type of packaging
  • Co-lead with Procurement in establishing Packaging Supplier Joint Business Planning and sourcing strategies to partner with suppliers across different tiers (i.e. packaging components, material, technology, molds, etc.) to co-develop/tap into innovation based on supplier's expertise
  • Unlock value and drive agility partnering with packaging suppliers and external labs to establish Supplier Package Testing certification program, enabling our supplier base to conduct package testing for Kenvue
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional/global packaging suppliers ensuring strategic partnerships, regular performance evaluations and develop continuous improvement plans
  • In partnership with Procurement, co-lead supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding processes to ensure the availability of high quality, cost-effective packaging materials and services
  • In partnership with Supplier Quality, drive supplier performance metrics, conduct regular supplier assessments, and implement corrective action plans as necessary to maintain high standards of quality, delivery, and cost effectiveness
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

What We Are Looking For
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent specialization.
  • 4+ years of experience in Plastics Molding Supplier Quality Management or related field
  • Expertise in scientific plastics molding (injection, EBM, ISBM, thermoforming), glass forming and process control
  • Expertise in conducting molding DOE and troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of packaging quality standards
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis to address plastic molding issues
  • Experience in the personal care industry preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:
$90,100.00 - $127,200.00
This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
