Essential Responsibilities:
  • Interpret engineering drawings.
  • Use engineering drawings, verbal/written instructions to assemble and route piping in HVAC units.
  • Soldering.
  • Brazing.
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Change out refrigerant tanks and other gasses.
  • Must be capable of using oxy-natural gas torch brazing equipment.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. without the use of lifting equipment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of brazing equipment and common hand tool use including measuring equipment.
  • Pipe fabrication.
  • May be required to perform simple wire connections, per drawings, etc.
  • Complete unit paperwork and QC checklist.
  • Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where injury or damage could be caused by lack of required skill.
  • Reporting of defective equipment to Supervisor and securing any defective equipment that presents a safety risk.
  • Gain knowledge of applicable health and safety guidelines, as well as plant safety rules to perform duties safely and in compliance with all KCC rules and regulations.
  • Participate in toolbox talks amp; monthly training.
  • Take every reasonable precaution for the protection of yourself and your coworkers.
  • Take immediate action to address unsafe acts or conditions and report issues to management.
  • Assist in accident investigations (as needed) to identify and correct root cause in a timely manner.
  • Complete accident and incident reports (including Near Miss) in a timely manner.
  • Ability to meet the safety/physical requirements of the job.
