Job description

Senior Controls Engineer- Grain Handling and Industrial Paint Systems industries.
Overview: Kasa is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to support project delivery within the Grain Handling and Industrial Paint Systems industries.
Role Summary: While PLC programming and controls expertise form the technical foundation of this role, successful candidates will bring a strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to work hands-on in the field — working alongside millwrights and electricians during installation and commissioning, supporting installers with mounting hardware, managing cable runs, and operating pneumatic systems.
Engineers may also be expected to develop familiarity with:
  • Liquid and powder painting applications
  • Robot and reciprocator painting applications
  • ASi communication network design and troubleshooting
  • Industrial networks
  • ERP-to-MES data exchange
  • Ignition and database platforms
  • Friction conveyors, track switches, vertical lifts
  • Washer systems and oven processes
Leadership Responsibilities: Because Kasa serves as the Prime contractor on projects in our Industrial Paint Systems industry, this role carries meaningful site leadership responsibilities, including:
  • Subcontractor management
  • Leading technical conversations
  • Driving sound technical decision-making
  • Representing Kasa's standards of professionalism and accountability on-site
Engineers in this role are also expected to provide remote support to current and prospective customers as project needs arise.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is self-directed and comfortable working independently on jobsites — particularly on smaller projects — and brings a genuine curiosity and desire to incorporate emerging technologies, such as machine vision and camera systems, into control system solutions. Strong documentation practices and the ability to communicate clearly across trades and with customers are equally important to long-term success in this position.
Travel Requirements: This role requires approximately 50% travel over the course of a typical year, with heaviest travel periods typically being 3-week rotations on-site with 1 week home in between.
