We have an immediate need for a BIM Manager based in Albany, NY

Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients.  LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.

The client for this project is for a BIM Manager is NYS Office of General Services (OGS)


The BIM Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive BIM program for OGS’s Design and Construction Group.
Design and Construction executes billions of dollars of work for New York State agencies each year through both in-house operations and consultant contract administration. This work includes design, construction management, procurement, scheduling, estimating, and capital planning support for vertical and horizontal construction and extensive renovation projects throughout the state. OGS is seeking a thoughtful, seasoned professional to audit fledgling standards and workflows, expedite their development, and distill them into training, reference, and contractual documents. The incumbent will be a quick learner with the ability to digest complex relationships and regulations quickly and to creatively integrate them into unique protocols.
Specific duties of this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Organizational:
• Learn, improve, and manage the overall BIM strategy and digital processes
• Develop and implement BIM standards, protocols, and execution plans for in-house design and consultant- or contractor-provided models
• Manage and maintain BIM content libraries and templates, including client-specific content and point cloud data.
• Develop and maintain archive of state building BIMs for operations and maintenance, capital planning, and as background for future projects
• Implement processes to enable BIM-informed cost estimation, scheduling, and sustainability data extraction
• Write scripts or automation to streamline BIM processes.
• Provide training and ongoing support on BIM processes and software usage
• Research new BIM-related software and best practices to identify opportunities for efficiency gains
• Lead and facilitate project-specific BIM kickoff and/or coordination meetings to set expectations, discuss project updates, and resolve potential issues
• Develop processes for digital handoffs between project stages and across stakeholder groups
• Conduct regular audits of BIM models to check for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards
• Evaluate fees and hours for BIM modeling, coordination, rendering, etc. in consultant proposals
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
 

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction-related field and five to seven years of relevant experience, including two years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency in Building Information Management (BIM) software applications, including AutoCAD, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Navisworks, as well as major Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• A thorough understanding of BIM processes and workflows for design, construction, and operations/maintenance phases, including:
o Modeling, template, and family generation
o BIM Execution Plans
o Clash detection and resolution best practices
o Asset management


• Knowledge of industry standards, such as BIM Forum’s Level of Design specification.
Strong understanding with Revit families, parameters, schedules & model linking
Proven ability to execute model coordination across large, multi-disciplinary projects with multiple models


• Familiarity with 3D scanning and/or photogrammetry hardware and software.• Familiarity with contracting conventions in the design and construction industry
• Ability to learn and adapt to the unique procurement, contracting, and project management processes of a government organization.
• Ability to lead initiatives, manage multiple resources, motivate teams, and strategically align BIM with agency goals.
• Ability to work both independently & collaboratively to develop standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex concepts quickly, clearly, and concisely for a variety of audiences.

Compensation:  Minimum: $90,000yr.  Max: $110,000 yr.

The compensation range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position.
