Company Description The Arkansas City Police Department serves approximately 12,000 residents in Arkansas City, Kansas with a team of 27 full-time police officers and 4 full-time support staff. Patrol officers work 12-hour shifts with day-to-night rotations every four months, providing consistent coverage across the community. The department offers specialized assignments such as Investigations, School Resource Officer, Crisis Intervention Officer, regional S.W.A.T. team, bicycle patrol, and field training. The organizational culture emphasizes community-focused policing, collaboration, and public service. Team members have opportunities for professional growth through varied assignments and ongoing training.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Police Officer role located in Arkansas City, KS. The Police Officer is responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls for service, enforcing state and local laws, and maintaining public safety. Daily tasks include conducting traffic stops, preparing incident and arrest reports, collecting and securing evidence, and participating in criminal investigations.
