This position is part of the Mobile Engineering team and plays a key role in delivering customer-facing mobile applications that support Kaiser Permanente members and business objectives. Working collaboratively with product, design, quality assurance, DevOps, and engineering partners, this role contributes to the development, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of mobile solutions while supporting Agile delivery practices and mobile technology initiatives.

Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this senior individual contributor position is responsible for developing applications for Android and/or iOS devices by leveraging Agile methodologies to design and implement new customer-facing features; collaborating with product management and UX teams to create fun, easy-to-use client applications which maximize the user experience; and adhering to standard mobile device security practices. This position will also be responsible for contributing to the overall architecture of KPs mobile technologies.


Essential Responsibilities:
  • Completes work assignments and supports business-specific projects by applying expertise in subject area; supporting the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; ensuring team follows all procedures and policies; coordinating and assigning resources to accomplish priorities and deadlines; collaborating cross-functionally to make effective business decisions; solving complex problems; escalating high priority issues or risks, as appropriate; and recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and four (4) years experience in software development or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Minimum three (3) years experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions development life cycles (e.g., SDLC).

  • Minimum one (1) year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.

  • Minimum three (3) years experience developing and/or implementing mobile applications.
