Job description

Job Title: Phlebotomist

Kaiser Permanente in Harbor City is looking for a phlebotomist to join their team! CA Phlebotomy license is required. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and gain extensive experience!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid CPT License
  • Ability to work any shift, any day of the week from 4am-11pm
  • 6+ months of inpatient or outpatient blood draw experience

Job Description

The Phlebotomist will be responsible for drawing blood in a fast paced environment, tagging each sample and then working closely with the lab to make sure that the proper samples are delivered for each patient. The successful candidate will also deliver excellent patient service, answer patient questions, act as a resource for patient information and strengthen the relationship between the patient and our entire medical facility.

  • Preparing patients before drawing blood
  • Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process
  • Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas
  • Gathering medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes
  • Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples properly
  • Accurately updating patient information in the organization database
  • Helping nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws
  • Working with supervising physicians and following their directions at all times
  • Receives specimens for other cases when delivered to the Laboratory
  • Other duties as assigned

  • This is a fully on-site position in Harbor City, California

You will work in a fast-paced hospital and laboratory environment that serves a diverse patient population across all ages. Shifts may include 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift on any day of the week, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The setting emphasizes teamwork, respect, and continuous learning, with an expectation that you will earn trust by being dependable, willing to help, and able to retain and apply training effectively. The work involves standard clinical and laboratory equipment used for phlebotomy, specimen collection, and data entry, with a focus on maintaining a safe, organized, and professional clinical environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Harbor City, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
