Job description

Business Intelligence Developer

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) is one of Georgia's largest independent, physician-owned, multi-specialty medical groups. More than 700 physicians and 300 associate practitioners work together in a unique integrated care model to provide high-quality care to Kaiser Permanente members. Our focus is on long-term health, effective prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence Report Development, the Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining reporting solutions used by TSPMG and Health Plan leaders, professional staff, and clinicians. This role collaborates with analytical resources, executives, business owners, project managers, and data architects to transform reporting needs into actionable insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Collect and document business reporting requirements to develop advanced Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI and/or Tableau.
  • Design and build reports and dashboards that provide meaningful, actionable insights for business users and leadership.
  • Write efficient SQL and/or Oracle queries to support analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Assist with data modeling and monitoring ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Apply advanced reporting functionality such as cascading parameters, linked reports, forecasting, charting, and geographic visualizations.
  • Validate, merge, extract, and refresh data from internal and external sources.
  • Develop and deliver tools for electronic data collection and reporting automation.
  • Support report distribution, including subscriptions, workflow automation, scheduled refreshes, and user access management.
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues and maintain reporting platforms.
  • Train and support analysts and business users on reporting tools and best practices.
ย Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Business, Statistics, Accounting, Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of report development experience using Power BI Desktop and/or Power BI Report Builder.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau reporting functions.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX calculations, Power Query, and Power Automate.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience writing, interpreting, and manipulating Microsoft SQL scripts, views, and/or stored procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data management practices, and relational data models.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivots, macros, and graphing.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with leaders across multiple levels of the organization.
ย Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Business, Statistics, Accounting, Management, or related field.
  • Experience with Power BI Service, Power Automate, and/or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Healthcare industry experience, especially in Clinical/Hospital Operations, Member Experience, or Quality Analytics.ย
