GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Prep Cook assists the cooks in the preparation and service of menu items and performs additional duties as assigned as well as cleaning duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists with preparing all food items & following proper recipes and procedures.
  • Ensures all food items are prepared in a timely fashion to ensure freshness.
  • Meets with Culinary Services Manager & Cooks per menu prep & recipes.
  • Ensures kitchen is always clean & sanitary.
  • Monitors all storage areas for proper labeling, dating, cleanliness & organization.
  • Assists with planning and preparing special events.
  • Tracks all production and temperature logs.
  • Attends assigned meetings as required.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to both residents and team members.
  • May assist with cooking or additional duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must obtain a food handler card within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of food handling and food preparation.
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills required.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation.
