Junior Lab Analyst

Location: Thompson, TN 37179
Job Type: Contract - 3 Months, Possible Extension
Pay: $20/hour on W2

Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Lab Analyst to support laboratory testing, scientific research, and quality control activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience with biological and chemical analysis, sample preparation, PCR, plating methods, and laboratory documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, prepare, and test laboratory samples.
  • Perform biological and chemical analyses according to established procedures.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and accurately document results.
  • Perform PCR testing, culture plating, and anaerobic plating.
  • Use Petrifilm and other microbiological testing methods.
  • Follow aseptic techniques and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records using Excel, Word, ELN, and LIMS.
  • Prepare reports documenting test results, observations, and conclusions.
  • Perform routine laboratory equipment maintenance and safety checks.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment as needed.
  • Follow laboratory safety, chemical handling, and biological risk-control procedures.
  • Support compliance with ISO 17025 quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on experience with PCR technologies.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory standards.
  • Experience with Petrifilm, culture plating, and anaerobic plating methods.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and contamination control.
