Job Title
Civil / Structural Designer / Drafter (Junior, Mid-Level, Senior, Lead)
Position Overview
We are seeking Civil / Structural Designers and Drafters at multiple experience levels to join our growing engineering team. These roles support a wide range of industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects and involve preparing accurate 2D and 3D design drawings, collaborating with engineers, and ensuring constructible, code-compliant deliverables.
Level of responsibility, technical complexity, and leadership will be aligned with experience.
Key Responsibilities (Level-Based)
All Levels
  • Develop and prepare civil and structural drawings, models, and layouts using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Produce accurate plans, sections, details, and schedules in accordance with project specifications
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines
  • Apply industry standards, codes, and safety requirements to all designs
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate redline comments
  • Support project documentation and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle

Mid-Level / Senior Designer Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced drafting and detailing for steel, concrete, and site layouts
  • Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and quality control
  • Coordinate across disciplines to resolve design conflicts
  • Assist with field verification and site visits as required
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while meeting project deadlines

Senior / Lead Designer Responsibilities
  • Lead large or complex drafting and design assignments from concept through final design
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers and drafters
  • Interface directly with engineers and project management on design strategy and execution
  • Review and check drawings produced by others for quality and compliance
  • Support schedule planning and workload coordination

Qualifications (Flexible by Level)
Education
  • Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Experience
  • Junior: 0-3 years of civil/structural drafting experience
  • Mid-Level: 4-8 years of experience
  • Senior: 8-15+ years of experience
  • Lead: 12-15+ years with demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
  • Working knowledge of Revit strongly preferred
  • Experience with Advance Steel or steel detailing tools is a plus
  • Understanding of:
  • Structural steel and concrete detailing
  • Site layout and grading plans
  • Industrial and commercial construction standards
  • 2D and 3D modeling experience
