Specialty Solutions Software Engineer II
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Software Engineer II provides advanced technical support and development for enterprise applications, serving as a Level 4 (L4) escalation point for complex system issues. This role designs, develops, configures, and supports software solutions while partnering with business stakeholders to improve operational effectiveness.
This position plays a key role in supporting enterprise systems within a manufacturing and distribution environment, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), including Supply Chain Management, Production Control, Time and Attendance, and Asset Management (including warranty tracking, maintenance history, and preventative maintenance). This role also provides limited support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE), including Field Service.
You must be eligible to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship.
JOB DUTIES
  • Serves as Level 4 (L4) escalation support for enterprise applications, resolving complex technical and functional issues that cannot be resolved by Level 1-3 support teams.
  • Performs advanced root cause analysis across integrated systems and implements sustainable corrective solutions.
  • Leads technical troubleshooting efforts for Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, including:
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Production Control
    • Time and Attendance
    • Asset Management (warranty tracking, maintenance history, preventative maintenance)
  • Provides architectural and advanced configuration support within D365 F&O to ensure system stability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders in manufacturing and distribution operations to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Designs, develops, and enhances customizations, extensions, integrations, workflows, and reports within D365 F&O.
  • Oversees and supports integrations between D365 F&O and other enterprise systems.
  • Provides limited but knowledgeable support for Dynamics 365 CE, including Field Service functionality and integrations.
  • Reviews and approves code changes, configuration updates, and deployment activities.
  • Leads system upgrades, patching efforts, and regression testing to ensure business continuity.
  • Establishes and maintains technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and support standards.
  • Recommends system improvements aligned with manufacturing and distribution business objectives.
  • Mentors junior engineers and support staff and provides technical guidance as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field and two (2) to five (5) years of related experience, or equivalent experience.
Preferred experience includes:
  • Supporting enterprise systems in manufacturing and distribution environments
  • Hands-on configuration and development within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
  • Supply Chain Management and Production Control processes
  • Time and Attendance systems
  • Asset Management systems including warranty tracking, maintenance history, and preventative maintenance
  • Experience with integrations between ERP and other enterprise systems
  • Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE), including Field Service

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations architecture, configuration, and customization.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and distribution processes, including production, inventory, procurement, maintenance, and shop floor operations.
  • Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system performance tuning.
  • Working knowledge of ERP integrations, data structures, and enterprise system architecture.
  • Ability to evaluate business requirements and design scalable technical solutions.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, and deployment processes.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and manage complex support and enhancement initiatives.
