Role description: Arcadis is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to support and deliver bridge projects for our growing team in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of transportation infrastructure projects both within Tennessee and across the broader region.

This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and leadership capabilities within a collaborative, industry-leading organization. In this position, you will serve as a technical lead for bridge and structural engineering projects, guiding junior staff and CAD technicians while partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions. You will work closely with clients including state DOTs, municipalities, and contractors, strengthening Arcadis' reputation in the transportation market.

Role accountabilities: Lead and deliver bridge and structural projects (new design, inspection, repair, rehabilitation), providing technical direction while overseeing plans, calculations, specifications, and QA/QC compliance with DOT and AASHTO LRFD standards Apply deep expertise in bridge design and analysis, utilizing advanced tools such as Bentley Open Bridge Designer, MIDAS Civil, AASHTO BrR, MathCAD, and CADD platforms (MicroStation, OpenBridge Modeler, Civil 3D) to develop high-quality engineering solutions. Manage multiple concurrent projects with full accountability for technical delivery, schedule, budget, and risk, ensuring efficient execution and high-performance outcomes. Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, developing junior engineers and fostering a collaborative, high-performing project environment.

Perform and oversee bridge inspections and load ratings, delivering accurate reports and actionable recommendations aligned with regulatory requirements. Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions, while effectively communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Support business development and growth initiatives, including proposals, scope/fee development, and client engagement; represent the firm in client meetings, industry organizations, and conferences.

Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field 10+ years of bridge design experience Experience working with state DOT standards (TDOT or comparable DOT experience preferred) Professional Engineer (PE) license (Tennessee or ability to obtain within 6 months) Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Structural Engineering Experience with Design-Build delivery methods Bridge inspection certification (NBIS or equivalent) Why Arcadis.
