Job description

Service Technician – Machine Tools

Position Summary:

The Service Technician is a full-time, hands-on technical expert responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machines and related equipment, including electrical, fluid, and mechanical systems. The role involves interpreting schematics, aligning machinery, troubleshooting complex servo-activated systems, and training junior techs. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, proficiency with engineering tools and blueprints, and a solid foundation in both mechanical and electrical principles. The position also requires flexibility to travel to client locations, and the ability to perform acceptance testing and customer training to ensure high satisfaction and optimal equipment performance.

Employment Type: Full Time – Hourly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong interpretation of electrical and fluid schematics
  • Troubleshooting of fluid and electrical servo-activated systems
  • Geometrical level and alignment of CNC machines
  • Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical components such as spindle units, gearboxes, and other mechanical machine components
  • Mechanical troubleshooting of closed and open loop axes control
  • CNC geometry and positioning axis compensation
  • Train hands-on Junior Service Engineers
  • Advises management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvement
  • Ability to align and use positioning, straightness, and geometry measuring lasers
  • 5-axis Traori setup
  • Automatic tool changer and tool management troubleshooting and setup
  • Acceptance test with customers
  • Maintenance training for customers

Qualifications:

  • Able to meet customer needs in difficult and demanding situations
  • Comfortable with international travel to remote locations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with personal computers, various software applications, read engineering blueprints, and use hand tools
  • 4+ years' experience in the Machine Tool Field
  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical principles
  • Hours as required to meet the needs of your projects
  • Some domestic and international travel will be required

Location & Compensation:

  • Lima, OH
  • Pay: $24-43p/hr ( Annually $50,000 - $85,000 DOE)
