Job description

Genex Systems is looking for a talented and versatile GIS Developer to join our team supporting Enterprise GIS at NASA. The qualified candidate will have broad experience in the full ESRI tool suite focusing on Enterprise Portal, experience developing low/ no-code applications, using ESRI solutions, knowledge of the software development lifecycle, agile hybrid approaches, CI/ CD, and SDSFIE.
The GIS Application Developer will support:
  • GIS system operations, maintenance and enhancement in an Enterprise Portal Environment; generally working within the ESRI Ecosystem;
  • Design of applications through the full lifecycle of development: requirements gathering, planning, design, development, testing, documentation, and release focusing on low/ no-code applications from the ESRI suite;
  • Design and code documentation, wire framing, visualization of application workflows;
  • Requirements definition; working with clients and customers to identify requirements and providing effective solutioning recommendations;
  • Multiple application design project management; must be comfortable managing multiple workflows at once;
  • Research, test, build, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements;
  • Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements;
  • Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools;
  • Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements; and
  • Create and maintain Metadata

Required Experience:
  • 5+ years experience working in ESRI Enterprise and Online environments; preferably with extensive experience in Experience Builder, Survey123, and webhooks
  • 3+ years designing programming applications from requirements to execution; laying out data structure, optimizing code;
  • 2+ years designing, developing, enhancing, debugging, and implementing software;
  • Experience troubleshooting production problems related to software applications independently;
  • 1+ years experience using Python, arcPy, or a combination of the two

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with ESRI Enterprise Portal
  • Experience with Arcade
  • Experience with Project Management

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Engineering, GIS, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of related experience, with at least 3 years working with a remote team
  • US citizenship is required; position has the option to work on a NASA center within commuting distance or remotely from the United States only, candidates outside the United States will not be considered
