The position of Project Leader 2 is an executive-leadership position responsible for the development & leading project-teams to provide expert solutions to a multitude of complex projects & industries. This individual must be experienced in running $5M - $20M+ in Electrical, Critical Power, Power Distribution Systems & Turnkey Solutions specific to Renovation Projects including normal & emergency power distribution, lighting & lighting control, branch & power feeders & specialty systems.
The Project Leader 2 is expected to provide overall development, training & leadership to Junior Project Leadership, Field-Superintendents & Trades personnel as it relates to the strategic planning, overall implementation & ownership of project completion.
Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements including U.S. citizenship for access to classified information.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring leadership, direction & mentorship to all project-team members to ensure effective collaboration & positive work environments.
  • Leads a project team in the preparation of project documentation to include project & manpower requirements, project layouts & scheduling of resources, detailed equipment plans & supporting the field-employees as required.
  • Primarily responsible for coordinating, planning & leading the project kick-off meetings for project teams involved.
  • Ability to develop a Work Breakdown Structure for the assigned project with properly named work packages & resources assigned to the appropriate tasks to establish a baseline resource plan.
  • Executes & provides site surveys, cost studies & projected costs, budget forecasting & any additional financial & cost requirements of the contractor-perform work.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvements & execution of best practices.
  • Ability to measure the project-scope & performance against the project plan to ensure the project is within appropriate cost variances, budget-expectations & schedule timeframes.
  • Partners directly with the Customer to create & manage the project schedule if requested.
  • Timely completion & accuracy of project punch-list items, as-built drawing submittals & ensuring employee accessibility to the appropriate training materials.
  • Maintains a positive, respectful & productive partnership with all leadership & support-team members including Senior Engineering Leads, Superintendents & Foreman, Junior Project Leadership & Project Controls personnel to achieve project-milestones.
  • Leads the acquisition of permits & licenses required, along with ensuring that all inspections are appropriately completed within the discussed timeframe.

Qualifications
Education, Experience & Technical Requirements:
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in the specialty contracting or general construction industry with a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or an Engineering discipline with a strong preference to Electrical or Mechanical or
  • 7+ years of construction management experience with a Master's Degree with a preference in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • Required knowledge within project management functions including self-perform installation, sub-contractor coordination efforts, maintenance of schedule & prioritization of deliverables tied to each specialty-trade simultaneously.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience & established knowledge in complex markets on projects specific to Federal, Local, Commercial, Government & Transportation industries.
  • Extensive experience leading diverse teams & projects with specialty budgets valued between $5M - $150M+ in specialty (Electrical or Power/Specialty Systems) contract-value.
  • Ability to properly utilize software including Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office & Excel.
