Introduction


Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Jr. Project Manager - Low Voltage position. This position is a direct hire opportunity, primarily on-site in the Ocoee/Winter Garden, FL area.


Summary


The Jr. Project Manager - Low Voltage position will directly oversee multiple lighting control systems projects totaling $5-15M while also leading the project management team. 


This position should have 3+ years of experience related to managing projects and/or design/fabrication of low-voltage lighting systems.


Job Description:

 Experience with theme parks, museums, casinos, airports....anywhere that uses specialty lighting systems.


Some travel may be required, although estimated at less than 10% and not expected to be long stays at locations

Project Planning & Execution - Plans and schedules installation and subcontracting activities on
large and/or complex systems.
          a. Works with engineering and CAD team members on the design and drafting phases of jobs.
          b. Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies and services and the timely delivery of
               these to the shop and/or job site.
          c. Determines, from review of various information, necessary changes in design, contract
              price, installation plan or other activity, and implements same.
          d. Maintains project schedule and coordinates task scheduling with internal team and outside
              trades.
          e. Selects and monitors the performance of subcontractors.

B. Financial Management - Owns project budgets, forecasts, change orders, pay applications,
invoicing, and margin realization for each assigned project. The Project Manager will also assist the
General Manager and bookkeeper collect payments for their projects.

C. Client & Stakeholder Management - Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external
project stakeholders and customers.

D. Risk & Compliance Oversight - Identify and reduce project risks appropriately and in a timely
manner; escalate issues in a timely manner when necessary.

E. Team Leadership - Direct project teams, ensuring clarity of scope, deliverables, and alignment with
customer expectations and contract requirements.

F. Communication, Documentation & Reporting - Maintain accurate project records, submittals,
contract documents, meeting minutes, correspondence, and related project documentation.
Proactively report project health and status to the Senior Project Manager and other stakeholders as
appropriate.

G. Closeout & Handover - Oversee commissioning, punch list completion, training, final billing, and
turnover/closeout documentation to ensure client satisfaction, and a smooth transition to warranty
and post-implementation service.

Qualified candidates would have the following:

  • Experience: 3+ years of project management experience in construction, electrical systems,
    controls integration, or related technical fields. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent
    projects totaling ~$5-12M.
    ï‚· Low voltage/Lighting Controls Knowledge: working knowledge of low-voltage wiring,
    understanding of DMX512 and DALI 2 protocols, ability to read electrical and control systems
    drawings and schematics
    ï‚· Computing Skills: Intermediate knowledge and skills with Microsoft 365 and other computer
    software and hardware.
            Quality Orientation: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to craftsmanship, accuracy,
           and timely completion of tasks.
           Decision-Making: Confident, timely, and data-informed decision-making under pressure.
           Communication: Clear, direct, and professional communication with both technical and
          non-technical audiences.
           Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose issues quickly and develop practical solutions.
           Safety Mindset: Consistent enforcement of safe work practices and hazard awareness. Hold or
            be able to successfully pass the OSHA 30 certification.
            Physical Capabilities: Possess the manual dexterity for occasional reaching, climbing, and lifting
           of objects. Be sufficiently ambulatory to walk a construction job site (up to 2 miles). Able to
           operate power tools and office equipment. Able to climb and work from a ladder up to a height
            of 15'.
