Job description

Our client is hiring for a junior level paralegal position. While the paralegal will work independently on many projects, they will also perform some work at the direction of senior level paralegals.*FUNCTION Performs legal research using electronic research tools and other legal reference materials. Drafts legal memoranda. Helps prepare and submit rule filings for submission ensuring that all filings are prepared in accordance with required format, free of obvious errors and appropriately cited. Maintains departmental databases in accordance with requirements, assuring the ongoing ability to access, edit, research, and accurately report data as required. Responds to general inquiries regarding rules and procedures from other departments and the general public. Assists on special projects including the preparation of materials for internal and external committees.*OTHER RESP Creates statistical reports. Researches and retrieves documents from the SEC. Other tasks as assigned.*EDU EXP Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience. Paralegal Certificate a plus. Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills. Knowledge of legal research databases (Lexis and Westlaw). Knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred.*WORK COND Normal office conditions. Overtime may be required.
