Job description

Position Summary
The Junior Information Assurance (IA) Specialist supports cybersecurity operations and compliance activities for JPRA enterprise networks and systems. This role assists with vulnerability management, security monitoring, system hardening, identity and access management, and RMF documentation in accordance with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support protection of JPRA networks, systems, and applications in accordance with DoD and NIST cybersecurity guidance.
  • Assist with vulnerability scanning, remediation, and compliance with DISA STIG and IAVM requirements.
  • Monitor system security alerts and assist with incident identification and escalation.
  • Support patch management and security configuration compliance activities.
  • Assist with log review and analysis across host, network, and application systems.
  • Support RMF activities including documentation updates and ATO compliance.
  • Assist with user account administration, identity and authentication management, and PKI support.
  • Maintain cybersecurity documentation including SOPs, security artifacts, and system diagrams.
  • Assist with cybersecurity awareness and compliance activities.

Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience supporting Information Assurance, cybersecurity, or related IT security roles.
  • Familiarity with RMF processes, vulnerability management, and STIG compliance.
  • Experience working with security monitoring or vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Schedule
Core duty hours are 0730-1630, Monday-Friday, with occasional support required during maintenance or mission activities.
Performance Expectations
  • Complete assigned cybersecurity compliance tasks within required timelines.
  • Maintain STIG and vulnerability remediation compliance.
  • Support cybersecurity monitoring and incident response activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation supporting system authorization and compliance.
