Job description

Position Summary

This role is intended for individuals beginning their commercial interior design career and provides hands-on training in furniture specification, space planning, client engagement, workplace design, and project support. The Junior Designer will work closely with Sales Representatives and Lead Designers to develop the technical, creative, and professional skills necessary for advancement within the organization.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field; or Minimum of 2 years of relevant design experience such as kitchen or bath design, drafting, space planning, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or CET or similar space planning software.
  • Willingness to learn commercial furniture specification and workplace design.
  • Interest in pursuing professional development and continuing education.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Learn the furniture lines represented by the company
  • Develop a strong understanding of furniture styles, applications, and workplace trends.
  • Gain knowledge of finishes, materials, fabrics, and accessories.
  • Learn furniture specification
  • Build understanding of workplace ergonomics and ADA requirements.
  • Space planning and furniture layouts.
  • Participate in site visits and take field measurements.
  • Assist Sales Representatives and Lead Designers during client meetings.
  • Order, organize, and maintain design samples, finish libraries, brochures, and marketing materials.
  • Help create social media content
