Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate in design strategy sessions and lead the design team with research, concept and presentation development.
  • Take ownership of design projects, manage timelines, and ensure the successful execution of design deliverables within specified deadlines.
  • Partner with FF&E designers in colors, materials and furniture selections.
  • Coordinate with lighting and graphic designers to ensure elements relate to the project design concepts and program.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
  • Creates functional and aesthetic design that enhance living spaces, help boost productivity, increase sales or attract customers.
  • Develops drawings, presentations, cost estimates and proposals and coordinates the work of contractors; coordinates installations.
  • Accept and provide constructive feedback to improve design concepts and final projects, striving for excellence at every phase of the project.
  • Initiates and manages relationships with clients and partners and is focused on delivering a detail-oriented expert level of client service.
  • Tracks projects, timelines, budgets and progress and prepares reports and communications for internal teams and clients; manages multiple projects and multiple deadlines.
  • Participates in team projects and strategic business growth initiatives.
  • Organize, plan and prioritize work.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor or masters degree in interior design
  • 4-10 years of experience designing corporate, multi-family, hospitality, or senior living spaces
  • NCIDQ certification is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent design, graphic and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Experience interfacing with clients and collaborating with Architecture and consultant teams
  • Experience in preparing construction documents and construction administration
  • Possesses general knowledge of building codes and ADA guidelines as they relate to life safety and space planning
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Interest in Senior Living Interiors

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Able to work in a collaborative, open environment; successful candidates will be team-oriented, self-directed, and forward-thinking.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel occasionally.
  • Must be able to handle loads up to 10lbs., sometimes up to 20lbs.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
    • Work in this position requires being inside most of the time, in an office-setting.
  • Must be able to work at off-site locations.
