Summary

The Jr. IT Functional Business Analyst at Hunter Fan Company (HFC) supports IT and business teams by assisting with requirements gathering, process documentation, and data-driven analysis. This junior-level role focuses on learning and applying IT and data management practices to improve system workflows, ensure data accuracy, and enhance business efficiency. The analyst works closely with senior IT staff, data specialists, and cross-functional teams to identify issues, document solutions, and support technology-driven improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business & IT Support

Assist business areas in improving operational processes through technology solutions under the guidance of senior analysts.

Document functional requirements, use cases, and workflows with supervision.

Support testing activities including test case creation, execution, and issue tracking.

Help develop training and support materials for end users.

Data Management & Analysis

Perform data audits, cleansing, and updates (e.g., product, customer, pricing records).

Generate and review reports to identify discrepancies or compliance risks.

Assist in resolving data-related issues such as missing cross-references, business partner errors, or failed updates.

Track and document recurring issues, escalating as needed.

Process Improvement

Assist in examining existing workflows to identify inefficiencies.

Help create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve consistency and accuracy.

Contribute to ServiceNow requests and projects focused on data quality and process enhancements.

Collaboration & Communication

Work with IT and other departments to understand needs and deliver accurate solutions.

Support project teams by providing timely updates, reports, and documentation.

Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand data dependencies and system impacts.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in developing project schedules, timelines, and status reports.

Education/Experience Requirements

1–3 years of experience in IT, data management, or business analysis preferred (internships or entry-level roles acceptable).
