Job description

The Financial Analyst has a strong background in financial analysis, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making. This role is responsible for providing advanced financial insights, conducting complex financial modeling, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive informed business strategies. The Financial Analyst's contributions will directly impact the organization's financial performance and strategic direction.
This role focuses on both customer and service profit analysis, pricing relating to RFPs and internal and external customer reporting requests.
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an analytic role, business or financial, is preferred. Qualified candidates will have a college degree from a four-year accredited college/university. A degree in business administration or similar is preferred.
This position is Hybrid, 2 days a week in the office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to assess performance, identify trends, and provide insights to support key business decisions
  • Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to ensure financial goals are met. Including ERP and FP&A
  • Lead the development and consolidation of budgets and forecasts for the organization
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather inputs, analyze data, and provide accurate financial projections
  • Create and maintain intricate financial models that simulate different scenarios to aid strategic planning, risk assessment, and investment decisions
  • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their financial needs, provide financial guidance, and assist in developing strategies that align with overall corporate objectives
  • Prepare and present regular and ad hoc financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators, financial trends, and actionable insights
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data by conducting rigorous data validation and reconciliation processes. Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes, reporting methodologies, and tools to streamline operations and improve the quality and timeliness of financial information
  • Assess financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
  • Assist in developing strategies to optimize capital allocation
  • Stay updated on financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements
  • Ensure all financial activities are conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Plan and execute audits of various financial, operational, and compliance processes in accordance with established guidelines and standards
  • Gather and analyze data, documents, and records to assess the accuracy and completeness of transactions and operations
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance analysts, fostering their professional growth and development within the organization
  • Collaborate with sales operations and HR teams to collect and validate data related to sales transactions, contracts, and performance metrics
  • Calculate commission earnings based on established compensation plans and guidelines
  • Assist in the calculation and distribution of performance-based bonuses for various teams
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and targets
  • Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required by the finance leadership team
  • Provide insights and recommendations to address specific business challenges
  • Additional duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in working with Microsoft Office Excel
  • Intermediate experience with VBA/Macros a plus
  • Intermediate ability of generating and manipulating SQL queries a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and resolve unique and challenging projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound business decisions effectively

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in an analytic role, business or financial preferred
  • College degree from a four-year accredited college/university; degree in business administration or similar preferred

PAY RANGE:
CorVel uses a market-based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Range: $80,718 - $124,624
