Job Summary
This position is responsible for the financial and management reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting processes for assigned operations. Supports the Regional Operations Manager, Plant Managers and their direct reports in maintaining financial controls including analyzing the P&L, inventories, costs and inventory change.
Job Responsibilities
  • Acts as local financial support to Area Aggregates operations.
  • Works with vendors, the CEMEX procurement organization, and internal purchase order creators
  • Leads the spare part inventory count twice annually.
  • Calculates finished and raw material inventory variances twice annually. Analyzes inventory movements and forecasts production based on sales.
  • Creates purchase orders and check requests for the environmental department, public relations, and limited other needs.
  • Participates in the timely and accurate preparation and/or review of plant level financial information. Duties include monthly P&L review and closing, monthly plant forecast support, and capital and operating budget support.
  • Participates in operational benchmarking and monthly operational performance reviews.
  • Supports the internal audit process and the implementation of controls.
  • Supports Engineering and Operations with project cost tracking and monthly reporting.

Qualifications
1+ years of financial management experience; Industry experience helpful.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Computer literate, in SAP and PC based applications. Strong Excel skills.
  • Current knowledge regarding the conceptual framework underlying financial accounting.
  • Diplomacy and ability to function as a leader in a team environment.

Working Conditions
  • Works in normal office environment.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • May be required to work after hours and on weekends or holidays for project implementation.

Physical Requirements
  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors.
