Job description

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer with expertise in automotive embedded electronics to lead end-to-end hardware development, including circuit design, PCB development, hardware validation, and production support for automotive electronic systems.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead hardware design from concept through production.
  • Develop hardware architecture, schematics, and design documentation.
  • Design analog, digital, power management, and microcontroller-based circuits.
  • Select components based on performance, reliability, lifecycle, and cost.
  • Review PCB layouts for signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, and thermal performance.
  • Perform circuit simulations, design analysis, and hardware design reviews.
  • Support prototype bring-up, debugging, integration, and validation.
  • Develop BOMs and manage component lifecycle and obsolescence.
  • Define hardware verification, validation, EMC, ESD, and reliability test plans.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
  • Support DFM, DFT, DFR, production launch, and mentor junior engineers.
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive or embedded hardware design.
  • Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, processors, sensors, memory, and peripheral interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience designing DC-DC converters, LDOs, protection circuits, and power management.
  • Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, SPI, I²C, and UART interfaces.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, Zuken, or similar PCB design tools.
  • Experience using LTspice, PSpice, HyperLynx, or equivalent simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed PCB design, signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, and EMC.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Knowledge of automotive standards including AEC-Q100, AEC-Q200, EMC, ESD, and transient protection.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automotive ECUs, ADAS, or embedded control systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety is a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Embedded Systems Engineering.
