Junior SOC Analyst Indianapolis, IN Support mission-critical cybersecurity operations for the Defense Finance & Accounting Service (DFAS) by defending systems and ensuring continuity in high-responsibility environments. Before you Apply This is a full-time W-2 position with Allyon. * Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required. * Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required. Candidates cannot proceed in the application process without meeting the required qualifications listed above. As a Junior SOC Analyst supporting DFAS, you will play a critical role in defending systems that support national security and essential operations. You will be on the front lines acting as a cybersecurity analyst and administrator focused on resiliency of systems in mission-critical environments. What You Will Do You will support cybersecurity operations within a Security Operations Center environment by: * Assisting with monitoring, analyzing, detecting, and responding to Cyber events and incidents under supervision supporting the Defense Finance & Accounting Service. * Assisting with selecting and applying processes and methodologies to meet cyber performance objectives. * Analyzing trends and emerging technology for potential program modernization. * Configuring cyber systems to meet user requirements. * Supporting the acquisition of hardware and software as needed. * Working in a 24/7 security operations center (SOC) environment at the DFAS facility in Indianapolis, including maintaining direct contact with client management to provide analysis and trending of security log data from various security devices. * Prepa ring reports and documentation to communicate findings and actions taken. * Recommending improvements to strengthen security posture and operational effectiveness. * Collaborating with team members to mitigate threats and maintain continuous operations. Required Qualifications * Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required. * Minimum of 3+ years of experience with incident handling, forensics, sensor alert tracking, or Cybersecurity case management. * Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a SOC. * Experience with Cybersecurity tools, including ArcSight, ACAS, or equivalent SIEM tools. * Experience with Cybersecurity forensics tools and methodologies. * Experience with network ports and protocols. * Experience with log review and analysis. * Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required (Security+ or similar) * Ability to work a 12 am-12 pm or 12 pm-12 am shift, including some weekends Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field. * D oD 8570 IAT Level III certification. * CCNA or Network+ certification. * Computing Environment Certification, including McAfee, Blue Coat, RedHat, or Cisco. * Knowledge of industry, government, and DoD best practices, including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes, and the development of new attacks and threat vectors. * Knowledge of DoD system solutions to mitigate risk in any activity that potentially impacts the security of existing IT and information management. * Ability to provide monitoring and risk analysis of zero-day and other vulnerabilities. * Ability to correlate disparate datasets to identify abnormal behavior. * Ability to triage SIEM events and determine escalation of indicators. * Ability to apply NIST, federal, and DoD guidelines, policies, directives, and memos as they relate to cybersecurity. * Ability to pay strict attention to detail. * Possession of excellent analytical and collaboration skills.
