JOB TYPE: Full-Time

SUMMARY 
The candidate is responsible for providing nutritional care to patients through nutrition screening, assessment, counseling, metabolic monitoring, and communication with interdisciplinary team members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete initial nutrition assessments in accordance with departmental policies and guidelines

  • Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition care plans tailored to patients

  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of Medical Nutrition Therapy interventions and follow up appropriately

  • Perform Nutrition Focused Physical Exams to determine risk or degree of malnutrition

  • Assess patients for food security and provide resources as appropriate

  • Work with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient care

  • Provide education to patients and families on nutrition recommendations while taking into consideration cultural needs and readiness to learn

  • Attend interdisciplinary rounds or meetings assigned

  • Manage parenteral nutrition support for patients

  • Participate in departmental Journal Clubs and education sessions to improve knowledge and skills

  • Participate in quality and productivity improvement projects
    QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from an accredited institution
  • Masters degree from an accredited institution if you became a dietitian after January 1st, 2024
  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Licensed by Georgia's State Board of Licensed Dietitians Commission on Dietetic Registration
