Job description

Summary:

The Junior Legal Counsel will support the legal department by providing strategic legal guidance and support across a broad range of corporate, compliance, and employment-related matters. This role partners closely with business leaders to deliver practical, risk-based legal solutions, ensure regulatory compliance, and support organizational objectives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


The position assists with contract review and negotiation, managing legal risk, supporting compliance programs, and dispute resolution, including handling legal disputes and claims where appropriate, in addition to coordinating with internal & external counsel. This role will help ensure timely and appropriate handling of legal matters in collaboration with various internal and external business teams to include global stakeholders as needed.



Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing legal advice and counseling on general legal, compliance, and HR/labor-related matters
  • Support the preparation, review, and negotiation of contracts and other legal documents
  • Help monitor company policies and practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Assist in managing compliance programs and related documentation
  • Support in addressing HR and labor issues, including providing preliminary guidance on labor and employment matters, and assisting with dispute resolution processes
  • Participate in legal research, prepare reports, and contribute to legal training programs as needed
  • Collaborate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders when required
  • Regular and reliable attendance on-site is required
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution
  • Licensed or eligible to practice law in good standing in the state of Georgia or other jurisdiction
  • Basic knowledge of corporate law and employment/labor law
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop legal skills in a corporate environment


Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years legal experience preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Exposure to contract drafting, compliance, and labor/employment issues preferred
  • Experience practicing law in engineering, automotive supply, or similar fields preferred
  • Experience with and exposure to corporate compliance, labor & employment issues, and safety & environmental issues preferred


Work Authorization:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
