What is a junior counsel?

Junior Counsel are early-career legal professionals, often lawyers or barristers, who assist senior attorneys with legal research, drafting documents, and preparing cases for court. They work under the supervision of more experienced counsel and help manage case files, analyze legal issues, and communicate with clients. This role provides valuable training and experience for those who aspire to become senior legal advisors or specialize in particular areas of law.

What types of projects and legal matters can a junior counsel expect to handle in their first year?

As a Junior Counsel, you can expect to work on a variety of tasks, such as drafting and reviewing contracts, conducting legal research, preparing case files, and assisting senior lawyers with litigation or transactional matters.
