Job description

Title: Junior Software Engineer

Location: Rockville, MD (Hybrid)

Duration: 12+ months contract

Interview: On-site MUST

 

Project Description
Responsibilities: 
Under general supervision, the Software Engineer assists in developing software products and works on improving the overall quality of the product throughout the software development life cycle. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations requires a variety of known factors. Receives general instruction on work and exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Influences others within one’s specific area of responsibility.
Qualifications: 
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent training and/or work experience. 0-2 years of experience required. Development and programming experience.

Requirements: 
Skilled in relational PostgreSQL, Shell Scripting, Java and Python. Academic experience in object-oriented development. Academic experience in data storage technologies. Understanding of DevOps and CI\CD technologies. Understanding of test automation and unit testing. Experience with Apache Spark and AWS services is a plus.
