Job description

Job DescriptionOverview

We are seeking a Junior CAD Designer (Water Infrastructure) to join our team in Orlando, Fl office. This full-time position will follow a hybrid work schedule, with the Designer working a minimum of 4 days a week in the Orlando, Florida office.

Your role
  • Prepare and revise engineering drawings, plans, details, and 3D models using AutoCAD.
  • Assist mechanical and civil engineers and senior designers with the development of layouts for:
    • Water treatment facilities.
    • Wastewater treatment facilities.
    • Pump stations.
    • Process piping systems.
    • Chemical feed systems.
    • Mechanical equipment installations.
    • Linear piping systems.
    • Utility infrastructure.
  • Develop piping plans, sections, elevations, equipment arrangements, and construction details from sketches, markups, and engineering calculations.
  • Interpret and incorporate comments from red-line markups and design review meetings.
  • Coordinate design activities with civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and process engineering disciplines.
  • Assist with the preparation of construction drawings, permit packages, and bid documents.
  • Participate in field investigations, site visits, and data collection efforts to support design development.
  • Verify drawing consistency with project standards, company CAD standards, client requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining project drawing files, BIM models, and document control procedures.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and support the development of engineering estimates when required.
About you
  • Associate degree in Drafting Technology, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Civil Design or related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0 to 5 years of CAD drafting or design experience.
  • Experience with Plant 3D, Civil 3D, and Revit would be valuable.
  • Prior exposure to piping design is desired but not a requirement.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings, construction plans, and drafting principles.
  • Ability to learn and apply company CAD/BIM standards.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
