The Design Drafter II is responsible for designing project specific industrial water treatment systems, including heater, wastewater filtration, clean water filtration, and RO system based on available standards ensuring the customer specifications are met. The drafter II will create 3D design, 2D drawings, create sheet metal flat patterns, add parts and assemblies to ERP system and review designs of other drafters. The Drafter II will facilitate internal workflow, and collaborate with Project Management and Engineering professionals, planning, purchasing and production departments.

Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Review the customer specifications and follow project engineer's instruction to prepare system layouts,

Prepare 3D model and assemblies utilizing the available standard.

Develop new ETO and standard designs.

Prepare 2D drawings, BOM and laser cutting files.

Add new parts and assemblies to ERP system.

Maintain design revision using ECO-ECN process via product lifecycle management and ERP systems.

Coordinates with project managers and engineers to establish essential functions and deadlines necessary to finish specific projects.

Determines appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the client's requirements, a standard template designed for the specific type of work, or by updating an existing CAD file.

Reviews drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate drafting.

Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

An associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology with 2-3 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above (8 years of demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering field in lieu of degree).

Design experience, including sheet metal and weldment designs of 1-2 years in manufacturing environment.

Proficiency with 3D and 2D design software packages, like Autodesk Inventor (preferred), SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.

Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) packages like Autodesk Vault (preferred), SoildWorks PDM and Teamcenter.

Working knowledge of ERP systems, like Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience of the water treatment industry.

Knowledge of design for six sigma (DFSS) and lean manufacturing.

Experience of developing standards using Autodesk Inventor iAssemblies.

Licensing/Certifications: 

Hands on design test of Autodesk Inventor proficiency will be conducted.

ADA Requirements:
