Description
Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager - Water/Wastewater to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. This position plays a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise and engineering support throughout all phases of project development.
The Project Manager will collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule and within budget. In addition to project responsibilities, this role will provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff, supporting their professional growth and development.
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Perform engineering analyses and evaluations, primarily computer-based, in support of the planning and design of civil infrastructure projects
    Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis of:
    • Water distribution systems
    • Sanitary sewer collection systems
    • Well pumps
    • Sewer lift stations
    • Transmission pumping stations
  • Analyze and evaluate treatment alternatives for potable water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Analyze and evaluate water and sewer rate structures
  • Develop planning studies, assessments, and recommendations related to public water and wastewater infrastructure needs
  • Perform the analysis and design of:
    • Water distribution systems
    • Water supply and treatment facilities
    • Sanitary sewer systems and related components
    • Transmission, treatment, and disposal systems
  • Assess existing system conditions and develop recommended corrective or remedial measures
  • Maintain and document written and verbal communications with clients throughout project development and completion
  • Review project status with project managers and team members to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely completion of work
  • Attend client meetings and participate in project discussions
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering studies, technical reports, and project documentation
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to project team members
  • Prepare project designs using sound engineering principles, industry-standard software, and applicable design tools
  • Assist in the preparation of contract documents, plans, and technical specifications
  • Support in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and engineering standards

What you'll need
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Experience
  • Five or more years of related design experience, and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations required

Certifications/Registrations
  • License as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana required. Licensure as a PE or ability to obtain such within six months in contiguous states is desired

Other Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficient in design using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station, ESRI products
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project required
  • Communication skills and in-depth knowledge of company products and operations
