We are seeking an experienced BIM Specialist to support the design and delivery of low-voltage technology systems. This role is responsible for developing high-quality 2D and 3D BIM models, coordinating with project teams, maintaining BIM standards, and supporting multiple projects from design through construction. The ideal candidate has strong Revit and AutoCAD expertise, experience with low-voltage systems, and enjoys collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors.

Job Description
  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D BIM models and construction drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360/ACC, Navisworks, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Design and model:
    • Structured Cabling Systems
    • Security Systems
    • Audio Visual Systems
    • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
    • Outside Plant Infrastructure
    • Other low-voltage technologies
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to resolve clashes and maintain model accuracy.
  • Interpret BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Design Intent documents, and project requirements.
  • Assist the Design Director and VDC Manager in developing and maintaining BIM standards, templates, libraries, and workflows.
  • Make recommendations regarding BIM software, hardware, training, and process improvements.
  • Produce 3D renderings for customer proposals, including conference rooms, data centers, and IDF/MDF spaces.
  • Perform electronic takeoffs using Autodesk products and Bluebeam.
  • Support both BIM modeling and traditional 2D CAD drafting as project needs require.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Continuously expand technical knowledge of BIM software and low-voltage technologies.
  • Collaborate with team members and provide guidance and support to junior designers when opportunities arise.
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of BIM, drafting, or design experience in one or more of the following:
    • Low Voltage

    • Electronics
  • Associate's degree or technical education in Electronics, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency with:

  • Working knowledge of:
    • IP networking
    • Low-voltage electronics
    • Power and communications systems
  • Ability to produce accurate, organized, and visually appealing construction drawings.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
