What you can expect:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audio Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing our web client's audio capabilities, ensuring high-quality audio performance across various platforms and devices. This position requires a strong understanding of audio signal processing, web technologies, and user experience design to create immersive and seamless audio experiences for our users.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain audio processing and streaming features for the web client.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate audio functionalities with other web services and features.
  • Optimize audio performance for low latency, high fidelity, and efficiency across different browsers and devices.
  • Implement audio effects, noise suppression, echo cancellation, and other DSP (Digital Signal Processing) techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging web audio technologies and standards to continuously improve our audio capabilities.
  • Debug and resolve audio-related issues reported by users or identified through testing.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to team knowledge sharing, and mentor junior engineers.
What we're looking for:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Signal Processing, Software Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent. Must have 4 years of experience in job offered or related occupation. Must have 4 years of experience in the following:

  • 4 years of experience with Software engineering with a focus on audio applications, preferably in a web environment;
  • 4 years of experience with web technologies (JavaScript, Web Audio API);
  • 4 years of experience with C++ (Web Assembly);
  • 4 years of experience with Audio signal processing, codecs, and audio formats;
  • 4 years of experience with Real-time audio processing and streaming protocols;
  • 4 years of experience with Cross-browser development and debugging;
  • 4 years of experience with WebRTC and developing real-time communication applications; and
  • 4 years of experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Telecommuting work arrangement permitted: position may work in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Position does not require domestic or international travel.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum: $221,374.00

Maximum: $255,400.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
