Junior Capital Markets Associate Attorney

Location: Los Angeles, CA (relocation candidates welcome)

A leading global law firm is seeking a Junior Associate Attorney with approximately 1โ€“2 years of capital markets and securities experience to join its Capital Markets practice in Los Angeles.

This is an opportunity to join a Chambers Band 1-ranked Capital Markets practice known for its market-leading securities work, high-profile transactions, and strong collaborative culture across its West Coast offices.

Position Overview

The Capital Markets group advises public and private companies, investment banks, REITs, and private equity sponsors on a broad range of equity and debt capital markets transactions. The practice is recognized for handling sophisticated, high-value deals across both traditional and complex securities structures.

Junior attorneys gain early exposure to major transactions and work closely with senior attorneys on drafting, due diligence, and execution across a wide range of capital markets matters.

Responsibilities
  • Support capital markets transactions across equity and debt offerings
  • Assist with IPOs, follow-on offerings, private placements, and at-the-market offerings
  • Work on investment-grade debt, high-yield debt, and convertible securities transactions
  • Assist in structuring and executing complex transactions including tender offers, exchange offers, consent solicitations, rights offerings, spin-offs, and recapitalizations
  • Support securities law compliance, disclosure, and corporate governance matters
  • Conduct legal research, drafting, and due diligence
  • Assist with transaction management and closing processes
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups
Qualifications
  • 1โ€“2 years of experience in capital markets and securities transactions at a law firm
  • Exposure to IPOs, equity offerings, and debt capital markets transactions
  • Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills
  • Strong academic credentials and prior law firm experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Active member of the California Bar or eligible to waive in
Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $225,000 โ€“ $235,000 annually, with eligibility for a discretionary year-end bonus. Compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
