Job description

Overview

Applies technical skill sets and knowledge to develop and employ complete and accurate test plans for implementation of new products and/or system enhancements. Responsible for functional and interface testing deliverables of Enterprise systems. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making established range of decisions, escalating to Manager and updating Manager on a regular basis.

ResponsibilitiesWhat you will do:
  • Assess functional requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create traceability matrices, functional and/or integration test plans, test cases, test data, and expected results for moderate- to large-scale projects.
  • Review and obtain approval for test plans, test cases, and test data with business units to ensure all procedures and system processes are adequately covered. Communicate and follow up on any deviations from these plans with the business units.
  • Stay updated on trends in our business, Information Technology, and Software Quality Assurance through networking and training. Be aware of strategies and major operational initiatives.
  • Execute functional and/or integration test plans. Report, triage, and monitor defects for assigned work. Ensure quality metric data is collected and reported for each release.
  • Identify test cases suitable for test automation.
  • Use IT-approved test automation tools to automate appropriate test cases according to SQA test automation standards.
  • Collaborate closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and understand business requirements.
  • Build effective client and business relationships and establish credibility.
  • Serve as a change agent across the enterprise for SQA services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science or Information Technology or commensurate selection criteria experience - Required
  • Experience in software quality assurance or testing in moderate to large multi-platform environments - Required
  • Experience in identifying, defining, and quantifying problems, collecting and interpreting data, establishing facts, and providing effective solutions for moderate to complex issues - Required
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in implementing and managing software quality assurance metrics - Required
  • Ability to translate technical specifications into non-technical business language. -
  • Develop moderate to complex computer system test plans and test cases. -
  • Understanding of functional, integration, data, and/or security testing disciplines. -
  • Results-driven with a track record of overcoming obstacles. -
  • Skills in technical writing, flow charting, and process modeling methods. -
  • Proficiency in using data comparison/validation tools, such as SQL tools. -
  • Ability to create test automation scripts using IT-approved test automation tools. -
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying information to internal and external customers clearly, concisely, and accurately, while adhering to proper punctuation, grammar, diction, and style rules. Ability to translate technical specifications into non-technical business language -
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database applications, and presentation software. -
  • Current Certified Software Tester (CSTE) Upon Hire - Preferred
  • Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) Upon Hire - Preferred
  • Certified Software Test Engineer Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE) Upon Hire - Preferred
  • ISTQB Certified Tester, Foundation Level (CTFL) Upon Hire - Preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate (ASQ CQIA) Quality Improvement Associate Certification (CQIA) Upon Hire - Preferred
  • Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP) Upon Hire - Preferred
Work Setting/Position Demands:
  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
  • Occasional after-hours work needed
