Description

SAIC is currently looking for an Senior Engineer Journeyman to support our team located in Huntsville, AL.

The Engineer Journeyman will oversee a team of skilled technicians, administrative staff, and entry-level professionals, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to organizational policies. Core responsibilities include:

  • Supervising daily workflows and directing employees to achieve established objectives.
  • Implementing and managing policies, procedures, and processes that impact team performance and unit operations.
  • Recommending improvements to optimize unit policies and practices.
  • Monitoring progress on assigned goals and ensuring alignment with management directives.
  • Managing office services, such as:
    • Equipment operations (reproduction, communication systems).
    • Facility needs (meeting spaces, janitorial services, recreation areas).
    • Administrative operations (mail distribution, office reception, word processing).
    • Office logistics (supplies, messenger services, cafeteria, utility services).
  • Coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements, including reservations, lodging, car rentals, and itineraries for employees, while resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintaining and organizing travel records and documentation.
  • Supporting deliverable data management, including identification, production, storage, distribution, and retrieval.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years’ experience.

Required Clearance:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.

Required Skills:

  • Required Avionics experience of any kind.
  • Proven ability to supervise, guide, and motivate teams of skilled technicians, administrative staff, and entry-level professionals to achieve organizational objectives and maintain daily operations.
  • Strong understanding of workflows and processes, including policy implementation, office service management, and resource coordination to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with staff, management, and external parties to manage travel logistics, resolve scheduling issues, and maintain key records accurately.
