Journeyman Instrument Fitter III - Semiconductor

Position Summary
The Journeyman Instrument Fitter III installs, routes, bends, supports, and tests tubing systems for semiconductor, cleanroom, and high-purity industrial environments. This position supports specialty gas, CDA, nitrogen, vacuum, analyzer, pneumatic, and instrumentation tubing systems used for process control and equipment hookup.
Must be able to read and execute work from P&IDs, hook-up drawings, loop drawings, isometrics, tubing layouts, and instrument details with minimal supervision while following cleanroom protocols, gowning requirements, and contamination control standards.
Primary Responsibilities
• Install and route stainless steel tubing, instrument tubing, process gas tubing, CDA, nitrogen, vacuum, analyzer, and pneumatic tubing systems.
• Perform precision tube bending, cutting, deburring, fitting makeup, and grouped tubing installations.
• Install tubing to instruments, gas panels, valve boxes, regulators, control valves, solenoids, analyzers, transmitters, and process equipment.
• Install instrument stands, tubing supports, manifolds, brackets, clamps, and related mounting hardware.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, hook-up drawings, isometrics, tubing layouts, and instrument specifications.
• Verify tubing routing, bend radius, spacing, slope, labeling, supports, cleanliness, and installation quality.
• Follow cleanroom gowning, tool cleanliness, material handling, and contamination control requirements.
• Maintain tubing and fitting cleanliness to prevent debris, dust, oil, moisture, or foreign material contamination.
• Support pressure testing, leak checks, purge activities, inspections, punch list work, and commissioning.
• Identify daily material needs and report field conflicts, shortages, or installation issues to supervision.
• Maintain CAM safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of industrial instrumentation experience in refinery, petrochemical, Semiconductor, Data Centers, Pharmaceuticals, Clean Room, or heavy industrial facilities
  • NCCER required
  • TWIC preferred
  • Must be able to support turnarounds, maintenance, and capital projects

  • Pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to work in elevated areas, confined spaces, and active industrial environments
