Position description
The Environmental Studies minor program with John Muir College at UC San Diego is looking for temporary, part-time lecturers with teaching experience in Environmental Studies, from a variety of perspectives: e.g., Environmental Law, Indigenous approaches to climate change, Federal policy and Environmental Law in Indigenous contexts, Wilderness and Human Values, Coastal Ecology. Please note that these are not full-time positions; lecturers typically teach a single class for a 3-month quarter. As an estimate, the compensation for teaching a single course is approximately 1/9 the full-time equivalent salary range posted above. We are particularly interested in lecturers who can integrate topics in environmental justice and climate change with a qualitative approach to natural sciences and lecturers who have a critical approach to the concept of "wilderness" from Indigenous and decolonial perspectives. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

• M.A. degree in Environmental Studies, Ecology or other related field required by start of appointment

Preferred qualifications

• One year teaching experience in Environmental Studies, Ecology or other related fields within a University setting, encompassing a diverse range of perspectives such as humanities, social sciences, policy, and natural sciences, depending on the available positions for various courses.
• PhD and/or terminal degree in Environmental Studies, Ecology or other related fields.
