Job Title: CoreRoom - Roper

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in the manufacturing of precision magnesium and aluminum sand castings. We have an exciting opportunity for a Coreroom-Roper that will operate hoist and carts used in core making processes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accurate scanning in and out of jobs and proper reporting of processed quantities.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times
  • Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship
  • Review and inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you make/process
  • Complete, date and sign-off on al routing information
  • Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards and utilizing procedures available. Make sure all equipment and tools are maintained and ready for use; responsible for documenting necessary repairs with immediate management.
  • Demonstration of workmanship, quality, efficiency by suing two core boxes in rotation at your workstation.
  • Ensure everything is done and ready to comply with the daily schedule; maintain proper inventory of all items; notify supervisor of materials needs
  • Retrieve, inspect, clean and properly put away all patterns and boxes used during a job
  • Understand and be able to assemble materials such as chills, locators, etc. Understand types of sands, chemicals, binder, and proper storage.
  • Demonstrate safe operation of hoist and carts used in core making processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Experience in foundry manufacturing environment preferred
  • Lift and carry up to (50lbs)
  • Good communication skills
  • On the job training while working with an experienced operator until position, certification is achieved.
