Job description

Urban Infraconstruction is a leading heavy civil and infrastructure contractor specializing in water resources, underground utilities, concrete, earthwork, and large-scale infrastructure projects throughout Texas. We are committed to building quality projects safely while investing in the growth of our employees.
We are seeking a skilled Telehandler Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating telehandlers on active construction sites, safely moving materials, assisting crews, and supporting daily operations while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
  • Operate telehandlers to lift, move, load, and place construction materials safely and efficiently.
  • Transport materials such as pipe, pallets, steel, equipment, forms, and tools throughout the jobsite.
  • Assist field crews by staging materials where needed.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre- and post-operation checklists.
  • Monitor load capacities and ensure safe lifting practices are followed.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, crane operators, and labor crews during material movement.
  • Maintain awareness of overhead power lines, underground utilities, and surrounding jobsite hazards.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance including fueling, greasing, cleaning, and reporting mechanical issues.
  • Keep equipment clean and in good operating condition.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Assist with general labor duties when equipment is not in use.

Qualifications
  • Minimum
    2 years of telehandler operating experience in heavy civil, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure construction.
  • Ability to safely operate rough-terrain telehandlers of various sizes and lifting capacities.
  • Knowledge of proper rigging, load charts, and lifting procedures.
  • Ability to read hand signals and communicate effectively with ground personnel.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety practices.
  • Ability to perform equipment inspections and identify maintenance concerns.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
