Summary of Responsibilities

W. Gohman Construction is looking for a motivated, safety-minded individual to join our team as an Assistant Project Superintendent. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction management. You will work directly under an experienced Project Superintendent, gaining real-world experience managing construction projects from start to finish. This position is perfect for recent graduates, individuals with construction experience, or those looking to advance into full superintendency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Superintendent with daily on-site operations and project coordination
  • Monitor and track daily progress, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget
  • Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and material deliveries
  • Enforce safety protocols and company quality standards on the jobsite
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, photos, time tracking, and project documentation
  • Participate in job site meetings and communicate effectively with owners, architects, and subcontractors
  • Assist with project layout, sequencing, and problem-solving in the field
  • Help manage site organization, cleanliness, and logistics
  • Support project closeout and punch list completion
  • Learn estimating, scheduling, and project management best practices

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred
  • Previous construction experience (internship, laborer, carpenter, or related roles) is strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of construction methods, plans, and specifications
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with construction management software (Autodesk, Procore, PlanGrid, etc.) is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Safety-first attitude and strong work ethic
