Job description

If you are an experienced DevOps engineering professional looking to make a broader impact and grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you.

Based in Shakopee, MN, you will serve as a technical leader within the Cross Portfolio, Technology and Innovation (CPTI) organization, shaping and advancing DevOps strategy, architecture, and execution for embedded device firmware. In this role, you will also play a key part in performing automated firmware testing and evolving the test infrastructure to improve product quality and delivery speed.

The CPTI organization develops low-power, hazardous-area-rated wireless IIoT instruments designed to measure critical industrial process parameters such as acoustics, level, temperature, and pressure, enabling reliable operation in demanding environments. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Architect, design, and evolve CI/CD pipelines purposebuilt for embedded firmware development, testing, and secure delivery.
  • Define and champion DevOps standards, driving adoption of modern build, integration, and release practices across the CPTI embedded devices.
  • Partner with Firmware Design and Test teams to align DevOps capabilities with platform needs, enabling faster and more predictable firmware delivery.
  • Monitor and optimize pipeline performance, improving build stability, test coverage, and endtoend throughput.
  • Contribute to the automated testing and validation of embedded firmware (new and legacy platforms)
  • Develop/improve automated test infrastructure used to test firmware and functionality.
  • Drive improvements in test efficiency, scalability, and repeatability
  • Support regulatory and cybersecurity requirements (IEC 62443, CRA, and related standards).

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Minimum five (5) years of applicable experience

  • Proficient with Azure DevOps
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship available)
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a software focus, Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited school
  • Expert-level proficiency with Azure DevOps
    • Including pipelines, repos, and automated workflow orchestration
  • Proficient/expert with C#
  • Experience with industry cybersecurity requirements (e.g. CRA, IEC 62443)
