Job description

Metabolon, Inc. is seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in data analysis, including expertise in mass spectrometry and chromatography. The ideal candidate will quickly adapt to our proprietary software, leveraging their analytical skills to conduct thorough data analysis and quality control. This role requires critical thinking and keen attention to detail to deliver accurate insights and solutions that drive the continued success and growth of our team.ย 

This role will work a hybrid schedule (Tues-Thurs in office) from our RTP, NC location.


  • Analyze Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and LC-MS/MS data to assess the presence, absence, and potential interferences of over 5,000 metabolites.ย 
  • Cultivate an in-depth understanding of mass spectrometry data to generate innovative ideas and automation solutions.ย 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data acquisition issues from LC-MS instruments that may affect downstream data quality.ย 
  • Verify and adjust chromatographic peak integrations to ensure accuracy.ย 
  • Participate in development opportunities, including:ย 
  • Expanding Metabolon's chemical library by adding new chemical entries.ย 
  • Assisting in the creation and optimization of automated data curation systems.ย 
  • Integrating peak data for targeted analysis projects.ย 
  • Curating experimental data to support company R&D initiatives.ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in physical sciences, mathematical sciences, or a related STEM field.ย 
  • 2+ years of experience in analyzing data strongly preferred.
  • LC-MS experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.ย 
  • Proven ability to learn and adapt to new software tools.ย 
  • Motivated and goal-oriented, with a passion for continuous improvement.ย
