Job Title: Plastic Finishing Specialist (Sander/Polisher)Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plastic Finishing Specialist with expertise in sanding and polishing molded plastics and cast acrylics to achieve a high-gloss, crystal-clear finish. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce optically clear surfaces using multi-step sanding and polishing techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform multi-stage sanding and polishing processes on molded plastic and cast acrylic components.

  • Transform raw or machined acrylic surfaces into fully transparent, high-polish finishes free of haze, scratches, or distortion.

  • Operate and maintain tools including:- Jitterbug (orbital) sanders

    • Hand sanding equipment
    • Buffing and polishing wheels
  • Utilize various materials such as:- Scotch-Brite pads

    • Sandpapers (various grits)
    • Polishing compounds and compounds systems
  • Follow detailed finishing procedures to achieve consistent surface clarity and quality standards.

  • Inspect finished parts for imperfections, ensuring optical clarity and smoothness.

  • Adjust techniques based on material type, thickness, and desired finish.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in sanding and polishing plastics, acrylics, or similar materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to polish cast acrylic to a completely transparent, glass-like finish.
  • Strong understanding of progressive sanding techniques (coarse to fine grit processes).
