Job description

Position summary
Performs operation to sand exposed wood frame parts, fram sub-assmeblies, and/or materials. Work on a variety of parts as assigned performing sanding operations for correct smoothness to ensure completion of work is to quantity and quality standards.
Major Accountabilities/Critical Responsibilities:
  1. Roll cart/buggy of parts to workstation.
  2. Sand wood parts to desired texture as required, breaking sharp edges as needed using a pump, side stroke, lever stroker sander.
  3. Use pneumatic orbital sander (jitterbug), and apply light pressure to smooth out the wood parts and frames.
  4. Use glue and wood putty to fill-in cracks with a chisel and putty knife.
  5. Neatly stack wood parts on cart/buggy as completed keep count of how many parts are completed/needed on ticket. If short, notify team leader.
  6. Keep work area clean and neat.
  7. May perform other duties/special or non-routine assignments as instructed.
  8. One to two years of experience sanding and in a manufacturing setting.
