About our Team

We are a team of ambitious, customer-focused sales professionals dedicated to connecting buyers and suppliers through industry-leading trade events. Our mission is to create meaningful business opportunities, foster industry relationships, and deliver exceptional experiences for exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees.

JIS Events is one of the leading jewelry trade show portfolios in North America, bringing together retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, designers, and industry professionals through premier buying and networking events. Our events provide a dynamic marketplace where businesses can discover new products, build strategic partnerships, and drive growth throughout the jewelry industry.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and results-oriented sales leader with proven experience in event sales and sales management. This individual will combine strategic thinking, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for relationship building to drive revenue growth across the JIS Events portfolio.

The Sales Manager will oversee all aspects of event sales, leading a team focused on achieving and exceeding exhibit space, sponsorship, and advertising revenue goals. This role will play a critical part in developing and executing sales strategies, coaching team members, expanding market opportunities, and ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives of the JIS portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales representatives to develop targeted sales strategies that build strong pipelines of qualified prospects and drive exhibit space, sponsorship, and advertising revenue across assigned events.

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team through ongoing training, performance management, and professional development initiatives that strengthen value-based selling skills and drive consistent results.

  • Partner closely with marketing, event operations, and sponsorship teams to identify and execute integrated sales opportunities that maximize exhibitor engagement and event revenue.

  • Provide regular sales reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis to senior leadership, ensuring visibility into pipeline activity, revenue attainment, and future growth opportunities.

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand exhibitor participation, increase customer retention, and grow market share within key industry segments.

  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, competitive analysis, and industry engagement, making recommendations to enhance sales performance and event growth.

  • Monitor industry trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to inform sales strategy and support business planning.

  • Establish and maintain key relationships with major accounts, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners to strengthen long-term business opportunities.

  • Drive accountability across the sales organization by reinforcing best practices in CRM management, territory planning, pipeline development, activity standards, forecasting accuracy, and budget achievement.

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop annual sales plans, revenue targets, and strategic growth initiatives aligned with portfolio objectives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in sales leadership, event sales, trade show sales, sponsorship sales, or related B2B sales environments.

  • Strong self-motivation and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, drive initiatives, and achieve ambitious revenue goals.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with a customer-centric approach.

  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop sales professionals while fostering a positive and high-performance team culture.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed business decisions.

  • Experience utilizing CRM platforms and sales reporting tools to manage pipelines, track performance, and support forecasting activities.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong presentation and business development skills with experience engaging senior-level decision-makers.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support events, client meetings, and business initiatives.
