At SCS, people matter. We give you the power to get things done. Because a great career doesn't just make you feel good today, it inspires you to excel tomorrow. That's why we recruit, develop and retain the best talent in the industry and cultivate leaders at every level of our company.

Senior International Pricing Analyst (Work From Home Flexibility)Description:

The Senior International Pricing Analyst is a senior individual contributor responsible for pricing complex international air and ocean freight bids. The role partners directly with US sales leadership on bid strategy and with Operations Managers to keep P&L goals in balance โ€“ supporting aggressive growth without compromising business sustainability. It leads major RFQs, indexed-rate bids, and project cargo opportunities, and brings a creative, solutions-oriented approach to how SCS wins and delivers freight.

The selected candidate can operate from our offices in Grand Rapids, MI, Chicago, IL, or Mt. Ephraim, NJ.

ย Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead pricing on major RFQs, indexed-rate bids, and project cargo opportunities, including scenario models and competitive comparisons.
  • Partner with US sales leadership on bid strategy and solutions-style strategic selling; participate in customer-facing pricing discussions when appropriate.
  • Partner with Operations Managers to ensure P&L goals are met โ€“ balancing commercial competitiveness with sustainable margin and executability.
  • Design creative freight solutions, including consolidation planning and multi-modal structures that differentiate SCS from rate-only competitors.
  • Review incoming requests for operational, geographic, and commercial completeness; confirm intent with stakeholders before pricing.
  • Translate carrier, capacity, and rate market trends into recommendations leadership can act on.
  • Maintain follow-up discipline on quotes, including pursuit of targets and feedback from sales and agents.
  • Contribute to rate libraries, dashboards, automations, and pricing templates as the function rebuilds its tooling.
  • ย

ย Requirements:

  • Several years of direct, hands-on experience pricing international air and ocean freight, including ownership of RFQs or bids.
  • Strong domestic carrier experience, particularly LTL airport pickup and delivery โ€“ an area where SCS is actively building capability.
  • Working knowledge of US air and ocean freight markets, including major gateways (JFK, ORD, MIA, LAX, DFW, and others), intermodal considerations, surcharge mechanics, and operational constraints that shape pricing.
  • Creative, artistic approach to solutions design โ€“ able to structure wins that standard rate sheets can't.
  • Strong technology orientation, including advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, scenario modeling), Power BI, and practical use of AI tools to accelerate analysis and communication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain a pricing decision concisely to senior leaders, sales, and carrier partners.
  • Self-directed; manages competing deadlines independently.
  • Bachelor's degree welcomed; equivalent professional experience fully considered.
  • Preferred: indexed-rate bid experience (BAF mechanisms, WCI-based adders, floating-rate models); project cargo pricing; CargoWise (CW1) or equivalent TMS; Power Automate; vertical experience in automotive, retail, or pharma; cross-border US/Canada freight.

Work Environment:

Will work in a desk area with a computer, phone, and other office equipment required to perform the duties/responsibilities of the position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to sit, talk, and listen most of the time.
  • May occasionally need to lift up to 25 pounds.
